Biography

Anya is a dearly loved, beautiful 6 year old female Siberian Husky. She is in excellent health and is 50lb. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. She is well house trained and would be ashamed of herself if she went inside. (When we picked her from the litter she independently excused herself from the meet and greet to go outside then pranced back in) she is comfortable with crate time with the help of a “kennel up treat”! She is a generous shedder like all huskies but she is a bit more smooth coated than other huskies Ive seen. (Have the lint roller handy!) With the distraction of a peanut butter kong shell let you brush her out. Baths are another story, not a fan favorite! She “clips” her own nails, she bites them off when grooming herself (and does it well!) Some of her hobbies are walking, wading or playing in river nearby, pulling mom (ski-joring) on cross country skis (novice level), pulling mom on her bike, sharing popcorn, napping, watching passersby to the house. Not a barker so will silently watch the world go by. Will “scold” you if you tell her no or give her sass by tossing her head and give you the husky business. As she walks a lot is good on leash, we steer clear of other dogs on our walks. Due to a number of difficulties we need to foster her out for a time. Unfortunately Anya has dog and children reactivity. She has been assessed by a very reputable local behaviorist and her vet and determined to be unable to be in a home with children or other pets. We avoid direct interactions with either. (And needs someone who is able to respect this boundary) with foresight and preparation Ive been able to keep Anya out of these situations for years and still enjoy all that she brings to us otherwise. I have so many tips/tools to share to make her rehome or foster successful. She will certainly rub off on anyone who shares time with her she is the most unique dog Ive had! You may get husky fever after her foster. I would also be willing to co-care Anya help with care/boarding etc if the right situation arose.
