Biography

In late March, we found Dawn wandering on the side of a highway in Northeast TN in an area known for dog abandonment. After a month of trying to find Dawn's original home, we have decided it is time to find Dawn a permanent home. We would love to keep her ourselves but we already have a full house of dogs and cats.

Dawn is extremely sweet and mild-mannered. She knows commands such as sit and shake and is house trained. She enjoys playing fetch and tug of war and does well on a leash (until she catches scent of a rabbit and then you better hold on). She does well inside the house and enjoys snuggling up and getting belly rubs. Dawn does have a mischief streak of climbing on up on stuff and also of carrying items around and hiding them.

We did take her to the vet after we found her and she was examined and given her rabies vaccine. She is spayed and has clean bill of health other than a few age spots on her face and a fatty tumor on her belly. Dawn did have severe anxiety with being at the vets office as they did not think Dawn had been to a vet very often. Due to this anxiety and her unknown background, the vet did recommend that Dawn be an only dog in a child-free home.

If you are someone who has experience in raising pit bulls and can provide a sweet, older lady with a single dog home, and lots of snuggles, then Dawn is for you.
