Biography

Fenrir Marie is a beautiful hound mix teenager of about 18months old. He came into our lives through an old roommate who purchased him from Oklahoma. We rescued him without the intention to keep him long term, but to save him from a worse situation. We're now rehoming Fenrir because of our other, older dog who needs a lot more behavioral attention and who has limited mobility that prevents us from giving Fen the life he deserves. They are just at such different points in life, that we think Fenrir would be better with a younger couple who can enjoy him to his fullest.

Fen is up to date on all vaccinations and exams, he's chipped, and he's neutered. He's completed a 6-week Beginner training course, and he'd love to do more. He's just an all around great guy to have around. He's goofy, smart, and a loyal companion.

Fen loves to bask in the sun, chew on a durable toy (or a yummy bone!) and play with other dogs. He's a gentle soul, this one - he loves to cuddle up for a movie, rest his big head on your leg if you're sad, and smile up at you when he sees something cool.

Fen loves food. He'll do anything for a delicious snack, but hot dogs and some dairy products upset his stomach. He's great at the sniff-and-find game, but he's only an occasional fetch-player. He loves playing soccer with himself.

Fen is great with other dogs - in fact, he does better off leash when other known dogs are involved. He likes a good pack walk. He will need a formal introduction to children, though, just like most adults.

Fen is independent - he will go sleep or play in other rooms, and take his space when he needs. He loves walks, and is improving everyday with off-leash recall.

Fen knows sit, stay, wait, paw, touch, take, leave it, come here (not full emergency come yet) and lay down. We think he could learn a lot more commands with the right family.
