Leonidas (Leo)

Leonidas (Leo) is a pure bred, red Merle, mini Australian shepherd. He is beautiful and playful. He loves being outside, playing ball, tugging on a rope toy, and just lazing in the sunshine. Leo needs a home with one or two adults to devote lots of attention and snacks to. Tolerable of older children but not of smaller children and must be placed in a home where there are no children at all. A space free of other animals and kids with lots of room to roam and a dedicated human to love him. He’s eager to please and would be well trained with the upmost obedience if given the opportunity and proper diligence and dedication to his training.

Leo does react with fearful aggression/reactivity tendencies but exercised enough is much more tolerable and relaxed around strangers and other animals. He is house broken and crate trained. A vet has advised us that Leo likely needs to be in daily anxiety medication to combat his daily fears and anxieties. Currently takes Trazedone prior to high stress situations. He is also used to wearing a muzzle when needed.

He knows sit, stay, down, and come although not to a perfect level but, with even more practice and praise would quickly become proficient. He’s incredibly smart and loves attention. He shakes, high fives, and dances for treats.

It cannot be stressed enough that a home without children (including guests) needs to be of upmost importance. His level of aggression (heavily voiced and warned/no incidence of physical attack but he does snap at the air when stressed or provoked) towards children must be thoroughly considered prior to placement in a new home. We want Leo to be loved and happy for the rest of his days and that simply can’t be done if he is routinely in the presence of children, nor is it in the child’s best interest.

We hope Leo will go to a lovely couple or single human adult only home with someone who will keep him active and adored for the rest of his years on earth.

Maggie

This is Maggie, she is a 4 year old Hound mix. She’s very energetic, is good with other dogs and children. Due to unforeseen expenses and working 16 hour days, I am unable to care for her like I should and it is not fair to her. She does tend to get in the trash but is a very good dog

Linkinson

Very affectionate and soft boy. He’s ready for cuddles and tug at all times of the day. Will bark at the sky during monsoon season and loves to play in the rain and water. Very food motivated! Easy to train and very intelligent. It takes a minute for him to warm up to strangers and other dogs, but is very friendly once he’s used to new company.

Link is unaware of how big he is and enjoys trying to climb into laps. Most wary of men. Mostly house trained, but has had accidents in the past. Prefers to be outside. He is neutered and current on vaccines.

Calessi

She is very energetic. She is house and crate trained. My 10 year old and I have not had her very long but realize she is not a good fit for us as first time pet owners. I believe she will do well with a larger family or someone with other dogs. She is loveable just not a good fit for us unfortunately.
