Banana showed up in our yard on 7/3/2023 hungry and immediately affectionate. She appears to be a Siamese/tabby mix and is ~2 years old. She is VERY sweet - someone loved her before because she truly adores people.
She had a microchip, but her owner never contacted us or the shelter despite repeated attempts. After a couple weeks of searching, we took over her care. She lived on our back porch from 7/3 - 7/20, as we needed to make sure she was healthy before she could come in the house. She had her shots, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and was spayed on 7/20/23. She had her final vaccinations on 8/11 - she’s a completely healthy girl!
She is the sweetest cat we have ever met, and we’ve met a lot of cats. She loves to be on a lap and loves attention. She’ll play with toys and eats well (both wet and dry food), but her preference is getting love. Even at the vet, scared, she was purring and affectionate with the techs.
So far, she is having a hard time with our other cats. She identifies our office as her “space” and is extremely territorial if our other cats try to enter it. This is definitely fear-based, and it’s possible it could improve with time, but want to state it plainly: she is scared of/hostile to other cats right now.
