Biography
Stitch was found under an 18-wheeler on 9/11 and has been living with me as a foster since his owner declared they no longer wanted him. His microchip says that he is 2 years 7 months old. He has a beautiful brown coat with faint brindle markings and white accents. He is neutered and appears to be in good health, aside from being thin and having some weakness in his hips from malnutrition and a previous lack of exercise.
Stitch is a GEM. He sleeps through the night in his kennel, walks on a leash like a gentleman, has not once had an accident in the house, is not food aggressive, and loves car rides. He has allowed me to bathe him and clip his extra long nails without any fuss. He has also adapted well to my two dominant dogs’ playing styles and is very respectful of their body language.
Stitch would love to have a doggy sibling but would also be just fine as an only dog. I would classify him as medium energy level. His personality is showing itself more as he regains his strength. He loves his naps, but would also love to join you for walks, sunbathing in the park, or a good game of tug of war. He is very dog and people friendly. He has had limited interaction with small dogs and children, but has shown no aggression. I believe he would do fine, with proper introduction. It is currently unknown how he is with cats.
Stitch is the perfect dog who unfortunately received a rough start in life. I would love to give him a place here, but my two dogs are reaching their threshold with sharing their space and caring for three large dogs on my own is difficult.
Stitch has had his distemper vaccine, been treated for fleas, and is neutered. I will be taking him for a full wellness exam and updated vaccines before he moves on to his next home.
Stitch’s forever person will be a very lucky one. If you believe he could be the perfect fit for your family, please reach out. His kennel, bed, and a transitional supply of food can be sent with him, if need be. Thank you for your consideration of a very special boy.
