Biography
Pluto is a snuggly ~4-5 year old adult pitbull mix. Pluto is a sweet boy who loves his humans and wants nothing more than to curl up with you on the couch. He is a truly special dog.
I adopted Pluto from a rescue 1 year ago under the notion that he was dog friendly. I live in an apartment building in the city with a lot of other dogs around, and this environment has proven to be too stressful for him with so many strange dogs in close proximity. Pluto has never been aggressive with humans, but he’s become dog-reactive and can’t be around other dogs. He’s does ok on walks if he we ensure to keep plenty space between other dogs. Pluto would do great in a home where he can be your only animal, with a fenced yard instead of living in an apartment (obviously no public dog parks for him either). Other than him not getting along with other dogs, Pluto is WONDERFUL dog, and his routine is pretty easy-going!! He likes to nap and lounge around with you, play with his toys and play tug of war, and go on slow leisurely walks where he can sniff around, but it would be ideal for him to play in a fenced private yard. He’s not a running dog or strenuous exercise type of dog. He’s very chill and loves to cuddle and is also an ideal work from home companion!
Pluto is house trained and does not destroy furniture/chew. When I leave him alone at home he’s fine by himself and doesn’t bark or destroy things. He sleeps on his cozy bed or on the couch. He knows basic cues like sit, lay down, waiting for his food etc., but would be good to have an owner that is still motivated to work with him on training and skills to maintain a strong owner-pet relationship.
It would be ideal if you did not have very young children as he’s a strong dog and when he’s in play mode he could be too rowdy for a small kiddo, but older kids would be fine. Pluto loves men and women, no anxiety with meeting strangers or men. Pluto is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. He’s on the smaller side for a pittie mix, he’s sturdy at about 50lbs but not very tall, he’s a perfect medium sized dog.
I’m really hoping to find someone that would love Pluto as much as I do, has a safe yard for him, and accept that he likely would forever have to be your only pet. He’s a big baby and just wants to love you.
