Biography
I adopted Cody from our local animal shelter when he was 6 ½ months old. He's now 3 years old as of 9/3 and has come so far in our life together! He loves to play! Being a high energy border/heeler he's ULTRA Smart! Good with my son and other dogs. He is trained to heel on leash, sit and down. He knows place (normal spot - currently his bed- and wherever you direct) kennel on command, left turn right turn, crawl, back up, wait, off, and loves to learn new things! Highly food motivated, and when he attaches to someone, he attaches hard. Bonds best with a patient pet parent who allows his personality to shine. Naturally highly vocal (he has multiple sounds. Some cute, some not so much 🤣) and is somewhat reactive in new situations. This is where he still needs the most work. Good with nail trims at home and baths.
Our old girl left us, leaving Cody by himself during the day which is causing him to be depressed and anxious. It's not the life he deserves and is wasting. He's a great boy! I don't want to lose him but I love him enough to help him find a perfect home with the perfect family, even if it means letting him go.
There's so much more to this boy that a profile can't cover. If you're interested, and can give him an active, loving, patient home, please message me.
Slow introduction is necessary, with possible multiple meetings. Hes worth it. Believe me! If your home isn't right, I won't send him with you. If your home is perfect, he will be the best gift to your family! Up to date on shots. House broken, comes when called (I'll teach you his commands - some vocal, some hand signals) and good left alone in the house. Doesn't chew or destroy things or furniture. Hes fixed and chipped. Rides great in the back seat of a car.
He's only a large dog due to his weight and height, but he's mr long and lankey. He isn't a giant dog by any means, and built for speed, if you like to run. Beautiful dog in every way.
Please message me, if interested.
