Biography

Remi came from a surprise litter from a friend of a friend's barn cat. At the time we had two other cats and a small dog in the house. He got extensive handling by the barn cat's teenage owner as a kitten and is very socialized to people.
He's a fairly sedate cat, but will play if prompted. Very cuddly. Will not approach strangers, but does not hide. Excessively tolerant of handling.
Sleeps and sometimes plays with our older female cat, mostly ignores the male. Tolerates the dog, will usually disengage if she tries to initiate play but will occasionally join play fights and continue them if split up.
Okay with older children and young babies, but is not doing well with a toddler in the house. He insists on being in the spaces she can access and refuses to move when she tries to give him attention.
He has stopped using the litter boxes entirely and several attempted solutions have failed. With the toddler, we can't have cat waste show up in random corners, and he does not seem to be happy in our home in a way that we can resolve while keeping the other animals happy.
Would make a great only pet for an individual or family. Would likely be happy to live with another cat if given sufficient space to claim his own territory.
