Biography

My partner got Dozer in hopes of having him as an ESA during his recovery from cancer. Unfortunately, Dozer has needs beyond the health limitations we have. We are heartbroken about having to rehome Dozer, but he deserves more than what we can get him at this time. Dozer is a highly intelligent boy who is eager to please. He is house trained; kennel trained and knows basic commands such as sit, come, off, back, and down. He is still a puppy and will need continuous training to help him become the bestest boy. My partner was not well versed on the needs of the bull terrier breed and was not aware of some of their quirks at the time of adoption. We will only rehome him to someone who is breed savvy and has the time, space and energy to give him the life he deserves.

Dozer needs to be an only dog; he likes to think he is bigger than he actually is and continuously starts fights with dogs his size and larger. He has a high prey drive and chases cats and other small creatures, although he has never caught one. He is high energy and loves to rough house and play tug of war, as his breed does. He is not very spacially aware and is very strong, we recommend a home with kids 10 and older who are large dog savvy, although he is a little guy, he's got a big personality. He would be a great farm or property dog. He is very sweet and loves to cuddle and is very protective of his people. He has trouble with resource guarding around other animals, whether it's food, toys, or his person. In a home as an only dog, with a family or individual who can meet his puppy needs. He is a sweet and responsive pup.

Dozer is still intact and is due for his next round of shots. We will want to contact a vet to make sure he is scheduled for shots and neuter. We will not give him to a breeder.

Upon adoption, Dozer will come with all of his belongings including bowls, leashes, his kennel, toys, and any food or treats we have for him. In home inspections are expected, we are in both Redmond and Eugene OR.
