Biography
Miles is a sweet, sweet, loyal protector. He is so loving when he is comfortable and loves belly scratches and sleeping by feet. He loves car rides, walking, hikes, and exploring. He has golden eyes like no other. We got Miles from a rescue in Greenwood, IN, who rescued him from somewhere in Kentucky where the owner dumped him and his siblings on someone else's property. His name was originally Santiago. He is 4.5 years old and his paperwork says his mom was Husky and his dad was hound/lab mix. He has double dew claws. He is neutered and micro-chipped. He has anxiety when meeting strangers, mostly if they are loud, or have high-pitched voices, such as rowdy children, etc., but is very calm when in the right place with his right people. My kids and I have been facing many challenges adjusting to a new life after a separation/divorce, and Miles has also had a hard time adjusting from a house of 5 humans to a house with 2 humans. I am getting ready to move in with my father so I can adjust, learn, survive, and succeed again. I am super grateful to him, however there is no room for dogs in his home and the time available to our dogs has had to change drastically. My current lease ends 9.28.2023. I am having a hard time picturing my life without Miles in it daily, and wondering if there's anyone out there that can provide the love he so deserves while we unfortunately cannot. I am not sure exactly how long it will take for me to get back up and in a place that will allow me to be a dog mom
again, but I have been working hard at all of the things to get me there. It might take up to a year to get my credit restored, build income, etc. I would recommend him not living with small children for reasons mentioned above, and maybe not a high traffic home. I would love to see him adopted with Molly, but Molly wouldn't mind being the only dog in a home. Miles would have a hard time adjusting to life without Molly however. Miles hasn't received the right amount of time spent training and tends to jump on people when he first sees them. We know he can be trained by the right person and become the best obeying dog. He is gorgeous that's for sure. And his body is rock solid. A super fast runner. He doesn't care much for toys, but sometimes gets in on the action with tug of war.
