Biography
Mia was rescued from a puppy mill in Dec. 2022/Jan. 2023. My partner & I fostered Mia from mid-Jan. to March, when Mia began a training program at Soledad Correctional Training Facility & received canine good citizen training from incarcerated veterans. My partner, a Marine vet, fell in love with Mia when we fostered her--she is friendly, playful, loves cuddles, has good recall, & is a great hiking/running partner. We adopted her when she finished the program in June. Unfortunately, we started new full-time jobs within 2 weeks of adopting her. Mia had grown attached to my partner/having us at home most of the time & developed separation anxiety. She began peeing in the house & ignoring all commands. It has been 2 months & everything we've tried (including discipline & reassurance) has failed to work. A vet visit ruled out medical issues. She would do great in a household with multiple people, someone active, other dogs, & perhaps a yard to give her the love & patience she deserves.
