Biography
Meet Kit, a distinguished goofball with a heart of gold, seeking her next adventure as a constant companion in your loving home. Kit (or “Kit-Kat”) is an 8-year-old, whip-smart Shepherd mix who weighs about 70 pounds. Rescued from a challenging home life in 2016, she has been cared for lovingly by her adoptive parents and human sister, ensuring she’s up to date with all her medical needs, including vaccinations, spaying, and microchipping.
Despite her newly attained senior status, Kit’s energy level is surprisingly vibrant. She thrives on play and training sessions, always eager to please her humans. She is truly astounding to watch when sniffing out hidden treats in a game of “find-it.” This sweet little people-pleaser has cohabitated amiably with both dogs and cats as well, but truthfully she would prefer to be the only pet in the household. Her fun-loving spirit makes her an excellent companion for children ages 4 and over; though she can have a harder time controlling her excitement around toddlers. She does struggle with skin allergies, which are fully treated with one tablet of Apoquel daily.
Kit has earned a lot of treats along the way to mastering a set of commands and tricks that will serve her future owners well. She’s adaptable too – fully housebroken and can tolerate stints in a crate if needed. With a heart full of trust and loyalty, Kit thrives when she’s part of a family who understands her need for mental stimulation and daily exercise, even if it’s just playing fetch or tug-of-war in the yard. Kit is always seeking a “job”, and if she’s not tasked with anything else, she will work hard to protect her family. She lights up on a stroll through the greenbelt and loves to splash along river beds.
Kit’s journey has shaped her into a steadfast friend who is relatively easy to care for. Her survivor’s spirit and unwavering loyalty make her a remarkable companion. Open your heart to this sweet-hearted dog, and apply to adopt Kit today!
