Biography
Hello, my name is Mae, I am a 9 ½ year old pit terrier mix. My current mama calls be Maeb, short for Mae baby. I don’t really mind what you call me, I’ll still come. Unfortunately, my mom has been sick and is unable to care for me as need; I am in need of a new home. I just want all the love and attention. I also want to love you and give you all the attention. Want a companion who will always and forever follow you to the bathroom and truthfully, wherever you go? I am your girl! When I’m not following the humans, I like to take cat naps with my feline sister. Sleeping is my main hobby at this time. I like walks, I get tired easily. 30 minutes of walking is considered a BIG walk. I do like toys but don’t typically pay much attention to my them. I either get bored or rip them to shreds, there’s not much in-between. However, I will listen if you tell me to stop destroying them.
Other things I know how to do are sit, lay down, wait, go to bed, place (kennel) and leave it. Speaking of leave it, I hear this word most when I come across a bunny. I just can’t help but dart after when I see them. It’s my weakness, what can I say. As a whole, I just want to please my human. I learned most of my training through praise from my mama and a couple of treats on the side. Behavior wise, I am worth all of my 80-ish pounds in gold. I will admit, I have had some accidents in the house (pooping). This started when my mom got sick because I am such an empathetic doggo.
As mentioned earlier, I am good with kitties! Sometimes kitties don’t like me, but that doesn’t stop me from trying to love them. I am also good with dogs! I am able to introduce myself to other dogs appropriately based on cues I get from them and their size. I am pretty good at reading the room. The same can be said when it comes to kiddo’s. I am just a gentle ham.
Lastly, I want you to know a little about my medical history. I don’t have many concerns, but I want you to have a whole picture of who I am inside and out. I have some very minor skin allergies. Medicated baths can be helpful, but I don’t really have any symptoms if I don’t get them. I do prefer medicated shampoo if I am going to get a bath. Sometimes regular shampoo can bother my skin. I do have a history of cancer as well, but I am a happy dog in full remission. A mast cell tumor was found on my right inside thigh. It was removed and the histopathology says that I have clean margins (meaning it hasn’t spread).
Please reach out to my mama if you are interested in the sweetest, most loving bulldozer you will ever find. I will bring my kennel, toys, food/water bowl, my food, poop bags, dog beds and a special glow collar to put on at night so cars can see me. My mom doesn’t want any money for me because she just wants me to live my best life. Money should not get in the way of that.
