Biography

Nori is a sweet little scruffy terrier mix. She’s a snuggle buddy and an awesome bedfellow. She is a great traveler and hiker. Nori is obsessed with balls and will play fetch for literally hours, but patiently waits for you to join in.

She’s great with people and other pets (we have cats and one other dog: they play endlessly). She’s awesome with puppies too (I have fostered many over the years, she is a foster failure herself). She was found on the streets of Stockton at around 7 months old. I’ve had her since that time.

She unfortunately resource guards. She’s inappropriate with it which has culminated in attacking a number of dogs. Therefore, she MUST be leashed on walks. She’s great on leash (with a gentle leader) and is a pleasure to walk. Unfortunately, she’s become hyper-focused on other dogs, and whines as though she wants to play and will then snap at any dog close by.

When I got Nori, I was a stay at home mom. I’m now a single parent working full time and cannot provide enough stimulation for her. I got her a sibling; Stella (also posted, hoping they’ll be re-homed together) who is also great. I hoped Stella would help in training Nori out of the behaviors, but now Stella has also become possibly dog aggressive with Nori and is an escape artist. The two traits are worrisome together. Unfortunately, my home does not lend itself to being very secure due to its layout. I’m concerned it’s just a matter of time until someone’s dog gets seriously injured if they stay here. I’m hoping to find them a better life with a very secure yard and understanding new owners who are prepared to walk where others do not with our lovely girls.
