Thanks for reading. My wife and I got Logan from the Phoenix animal shelter in 2018. He was already about a year and a half old.
Logan loves to go outside and take long sniff safaris. He loves dog parks but sometimes other dogs make him nervous so he will mostly just hang and play with you. A ball works perfect for helping him get his energy out, although his favorite toy is his rope for tugging and fetch.
Logan has struggled with resource guarding. His biggest triggers are food/high value treats. In order to combat this, we do not allow food or high value items to be out unless it is specifically treat or playtime. We also require that he drops and backs off whenever first before we handle food or high value toys that might make him aggressive.
Logan takes fluoxetine to help with his daily anxiety. He is house trained, and will not make a mess inside unless he does not get adequate potty time before hand. We took the door off his kennel to reinforce it was his safe spot to relax and not a punishment spot. He will normally hang and sleep in it fine, but gets stressed out if you close the door.
Logan loves to just be with you and hang all day. He loves car rides and puppachinos from the coffee shops.
Both my wife and I work full time, and do not have the time to work on Logans behavior issues and prevent them from getting worse. We feel like he would be much happier with someone or someones that can devote the time and love that he deserves and can work with him on his issues.
