Biography

Jagger is a 5 year blue Great Dane (birthday is in November). He is a very loving, caring, affectionate dog who needs lots and lots of attention. He suffers from some skin issues that we seem to have under control now using Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach food + daily probiotics + salmon oil, and fresh/frozen fruits and veggies as often as we can. He is currently taking Apoquel once a day for his skin issues, we believe he can come off of it in the cooler months but the bugs and other outdoor allergens seem to cause him to flare up. Jagger has grown up with 2 smaller dogs, as well as interacting with friends and family's dogs of all sizes. Jagger does seem to get very excitable when our bird is out of her cage and he has never really met/interacted with other animals. He has been spooked by a cat who surprised him in the driveway once, but did not show any aggression - it is unknown how Jagger would do with other animals. He does well with children, he has experienced our nieces and nephews, as well as our own child. Jagger does get excited if the child is excited but has NEVER shown any aggression toward a kid, he just forgets his size and thinks he can bounce along with the kids. He does really well on and off a leash, often accompanying us in the front yard or garage off the leash without running off or chasing the neighborhood kids or other neighbors walking their dogs. When we do walk the neighborhood, he stays right next to us or behind us without tugging or jerking his leash, he especially does well when we encounter other dogs - although he does wear out easier on walks, so long distances may take some time for him to work up to. With work changes, our own kid growing, and Jagger's skin issues, we just mentally, physically, and to an extent, financially we cannot keep up with him. We feel he deserves a better life and opportunity than we are providing him.
