Biography
Nate is a rescue. He was born here but his mother is a stray from Fiji. He is almost four years old (October). He is extremely intelligent. Our family is too busy for the amount of attention he needs to keep him consistently disciplined. He can be very stubborn. He knows what he is suppose to do but tends to challenge you. I believe that if someone were to commit to training him, he could be an excellent dog, unfortunately, our schedules have not allowed us to do this.
He currently lives with two other female dogs and does well. They are older though and are not as hyper as him. I am able to take him for run or walks successfully. I use a “gentle leader” as he does tend to pull. He also barks at other dogs while we walk.
He is house trained, as well as crate trained. I leave him in the kennel while I go to work. He does well with it. I would provide all the supplies we have used with him upon adoption. Anything to make the transition smooth and comfortable.
We have two older kids and he does well with them. I would be nervous around younger children. He tends to chase cats but has never attacked them. We have a small Siamese and she avoids him. Our house also has a Guinea pig & a rabbit. He leaves them alone in their cage but I would not trust him if they free ranged. He was not friendly to our pet rats.
He has had an allergic reaction to the Lepto vaccine. Our veterinary gives him Benadryl prior to the shot and he has been fine every time since.
