Biography
I adopted Bowie last September. He was driven over from Texas. I don't have any background information as far as his past.
I've fallen in love with him, as most do when they meet him. He loves people, especially men and children. He's done well with training, learning sit, lay, stay, come, fetch, and others. He still likes to chew my shoes and has a thing for pillows and blankets, but he's come a long way from when I first got him. Mostly he's just a big goofy, lovable guy.
He gets along great with my Pit Boxer Mix; they are the best of friends. However, he doesn't always get along with my older, smaller dog. She isn't a dogs dog and doesn't like sharing her toys or personal space. She will warn him off, and he's gone at her a few times needing to be pulled off. Bowie has also shown some aggression at the dog park and on walks. I do believe my high-strung Pit Boxer Mix gets him a bit riled up. If he were the only dog or with another dog who was more on the mellow side, that would work in his favor.
He shouldn't be in a home with cats. We've worked on this behavior, and he's gotten slightly better. However, I would suggest he not live with a cat.
