Biography

Meet Phoebe! She's 4.5 years old and 50 lbs of tanky love. She'll do anything for a cool morning walk, a round of fetch, and a peanut butter kong! Bee is a people pleaser, professional cuddler, very smart, and always tries her best. She is crate trained and rings a bell to go outside. No issues with humans and warms up quickly to new people, shoving toys in the laps of her chosen ones. She has several tricks under her belt and enjoys learning new ones. Loves car rides, playing in running water, and quiet secluded trails.

Phoebe needs an experienced owner with reactivity knowledge. Negative encounters on-leash have left her wary and defensive of other dogs, which comes out as reactivity when she is stared or barked at.

Phoebe should also be the only pet in her new home. She has a tendency to resource guard treats and toys, and the prey drive has made meeting new cats difficult. She has been able to play in daycare settings without issue in the past, and has lived with cats her whole life without worries or guarding until recently.

This girl is such a sweet and loving dog in the home, and wants nothing more than to spend quality time with her humans. She can be an incredible companion for the right person(s). Phoebe has a lot of energy that her owner cannot keep up with anymore due to permanent injuries from an auto accident. Trying to balance physical recovery and the needs of a strong, high energy dog has been difficult, and has no doubt been a big reason for her increased reactivity behaviors.

Phoebe deserves to live an active and trusting life with someone who sees her potential. She may be perfect for you if: you have no other pets, are outdoorsy, use positive reinforcement, and want to build a beautiful dog's confidence!
