Biography
I received Pat from a coworker about 20 years ago. They had gotten her from someone else and didn't know anything about turtles. I'd had a few red eared sliders so I took her in. Sadly we are moving to a much smaller place & there won't be any place for her tank.
The best I can tell she is an Eastern Painted turtle. Probably about 25 years old. And basically full grown. She a little shy, doesn't get handeled much but she's not aggressive at all. Her tank is about 5.5 feet long. Plus the filter which I don't think will fit in the base. We have had fish with her from time to time. She eventually eats them but she doesn't really go after them. She is an aquatic turtle but she's very accustomed to tank life. Putting her out in a pond is not really an option, I tried that when I first got her.
I don't know putting her with another turtle. The one I had her with at first attacked her.
Turtles are a lot of work. Please be sure you are ready for the commitment before you adopt. I've had 3 people say they want her just to back out at the last minute.
