Biography
Marzanna is an incredible cat. Last fall, she showed up to our colony of TNR community cats that we care for. Shortly after she began eating here, she brought her five fluffy kittens onto the property and hid them in the woodshed. We were able to trap her and all her babies (who are now in loving forever homes). Marzanna was spayed, vaccinated, and treated for parasites, and assessed for adoption. At that time, she wanted nothing to do with the humans, so she was returned to the colony, where she has been happy and healthy.
In the past couple of months, however, she has shown us her affectionate side. In fact, she craves our attention so much that she has started sleeping on our porch rather than with her cat friends. Marzanna can be a bit spicy, and while she seems to want to play with the other cats, she can be a bit aggressive. Now that we are petting and holding her, she seems even more possessive of us humans.
We think that Marzanna would be most happy in an experienced, doting, single-cat household with plenty of stimulation. Marzanna can be a bit sensitive with how she is handled and possibly has a prior history of abuse/neglect, but she has made so much progress and clearly wants to love and be loved.
Since she is currently exclusively an outside cat, she will need substantial indoor-only adjustment time to see how she adapts to the home environment. We always advocate for indoor-only cat ownership whenever possible, and we think catios are the best!
We want to see if Marzanna has a forever home out there, but she is always welcome back here, where we know she can thrive.
