Squishy (AKA Ms. Turt Turt) is a female red eared slider whose age is unknown. I believe she is somewhere between 5 and 10 years old, however I cannot confirm.
Squishy's early years with a previous owner were spent in difficult and inadequate conditions for a red eared slider to thrive. Because of this, she does have some minor shell deformities in the form of minor pyramiding from improper scute shedding. We have tried to remedy the issue over the years, however she could definitely benefit from some more TLC. She is also a bit portly for her size and could benefit from more greens in her diet.
Red Eared sliders require a specific and controlled environment for them to thrive and therefore should only go to someone who already has the knowledge and time to care for her or someone who is willing to put in the effort to educate themselves on proper care. They require a large area to swim (75gallons +) as well as an area that is completely out of the water for her to bask that includes a heat light that provides a specific temperature and a uva/b light for shell health. Her diet also consists of some turtle pellets with a healthy mix of lettuce.
She does not enjoy being handled or played with and should be handled with care.
