Biography

My friend Brody is a great dog that was adopted from a shelter about 4 years ago. He needs a home where he can be the only K-9. He gets along with cats great as can be seen in one of his pictures., and he gives everyone hugs. He's never had an issue with another dog in public, and got along fine with our other dog at first, but gets jealous of our other dog getting any kind of attention. Hence the hopes of finding him a home where he can be the only dog. Brody loves attention, and wants all of it to himself (except for the cats, they can have all they want). He's very food driven, and will do anything for a Kirkland dog buscuit. He pulls a bit at first on walks because he's so excited, but quickly calms down, and walks well on a leash. If you drop the leash, he won't go more than 10 feet from you. We only wish to re-home him because of his jealousy of our other dog. He's close to 90 lbs., and his first vet check after adopting him we found out that a couple of his canine teeth are broken, but they don't cause him any problems.
He's an excellent watch dog as well. He barks if someone knocks on the door or rings the doorbell, and anytime someone comes in the house until he identifies them. He's a big baby though, and has never tried to bite a human. I think he'd be great around small children, but I'd probably avoid it just because of his size. He can be very intimidating, but again, he's a big baby. He's easily startled by the sound of a paper bag, or the crinkling of an empty water bottle. I think he was abused when he was young, as he's afraid of larger men. He'll bark continuously at any man in his space until he's sure they're not going to hurt him. He only goes outside for a short time to go to the bathroom, unless someone goes with him, like for a walk, or to hang out in the yard. He's been around goats, and some other livestock, at which he showed no interest. The one goat approached him, and he just made an effort to keep distance between it, and himself.
Please consider Brody if you can offer him an only dog home. He'd like a big yard, and or lots of walks. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
