Looking to rehome our austrailan shepard healer mix. His name is Chase and he is 1.5 years old. He is cuddly and sweet to his people and plays with dogs he knows fairly well. Due to his young age he tends to get overly excited over outside influences such as people or animals walking by and that excitement causes him to punk our older miniature schnauzer who was just diagnosed with diabetes. She isn't up to playing or asserting her dominance now so this is causing issues.
He used to be good with other people as a puppy but we lead fairly secluded lives and so he hasn't been socialized much. He needs a home with lots of room to run. A ranch would be ideal as he has so much energy to burn. He is very protective of his home which would make hima good watch dog.
He responds well to treats and kindness but not to any sort of violence. It will take time and patience for him to accept his new owners as his "people" so please don't respond if that isn't you. I wouldn't recommend children either as he hasn't been exposed to them at all.
He has been kennel trained for nights but does better with the door left open and a fence around his space (picture attached). He sits, lays, walks on a leash fairly well, is current on his shots and has been neutered. He also rides in the backseat of our ATV and in cars well.
We love him and want him to have a good home and life. Please PM if interesed. He's not a Mountain Cur but i couldn't delete it.
