Biography

Scherzer is three years old and we have had him since he was a puppy. He likes to go for walks, go in the pool and run around the yard. . He LOVES going to Starbucks to get pup cups. He loves being pet and laying on your lap if you're on the couch. He doesn't realize he isn't a lap dog. He used to sleep in our bed with us until we had the baby and now he sleeps on our couch in the living room. He knows basic commands like sit, down, and shake. We have bells hanging by the door so that he can let us know if he has to go out, but it's hit or miss. He is very energetic.

Unfortunately, we have been unsuccessful in getting him potty trained. We have two other dogs that we potty trained with no problem so we are completely stumped on why Scherzer still has accidents. I had him checked for a UTI and the vet said there was nothing medically wrong with him. Within this last year he has also become extremely anxious. We used to take him to the dog beach but the last time we went, he wouldn't let anyone near us without barking. I really think he needs to go through some sort of training but we can’t afford it. Now we have a baby and pretty soon she will be crawling and I don’t want to have to worry about her crawling into a puddle of pee. It breaks my heart to give him up, but I’m hoping that there is someone out there that is willing to work with him and give him a good home. He really is super sweet. If it weren’t for the fact that he is peeing in the house everyday, we would keep him.
