Biography

Meet the love of your life! Copper was adopted from an animal shelter as a 3-month-old pup right after I graduated college and moved away on my own. He has been my baby, my protector, snuggle buddy, and best friend since the day I took him home. We formed a special bond in the first 5 years of his life, and we moved together... a lot. I was a free spirit, and he was just along for the ride. Always happy as long as he had me. In the past 2 years though, I've become a mom to 3. I have been struggling with the fact that Copper does not get nearly the amount of time and attention as he did before. We used to go on hikes and visit dog parks multiple times a week. Now he is lucky if he gets to go on one walk with me per week. It breaks my heart. We are both depressed and are grieving the life we had before. I hate that it has come to this. But if I'm being honest, he deserves so much more than what I can give him at this point in my life... He is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. All he wants is attention. As a mom to 3 very young children, I'm overwhelmed and I just can't give him the amount he needs anymore. He has SO much more life to live, but I want him to live out the rest of his life receiving all the love he can possibly get. He is very family-friendly, but would do better living in a child-free home or a home with older children. He loves to play with other dogs and has lived with 1-2 other dogs before (male and female). He would thrive in an environment where he is either the "only child" who gets all the attention, or in a home with 1-2 other playful dogs. He has SO MUCH playful energy. Think Boxer/Great Dane mixed with German Shepherd/Husky.
