Sailor is our favorite! I rescued her from our front yard in October 2023. She was a young mother with six kittens. She was sickly and tired and the look in her eyes was like, “help me” as she laid in an old used tire in front of my home. I was afraid, yet I was never a cat person but she MADE me a cat person. I’ve always been so afraid of cats. Something about her made me want to help her. Our kids named her Sailor and since the other kittens were taken, we kept one and named her Moon. She was a black kitten. While I helped nurture Sailor and the last kitten back to health, Moon eventually went on her way and Sailor ended up in our home. I wanted her safe. I was also afraid but she trusted me and I trusted her. Meanwhile, I took her to the shelter to get shots and for a checkup and also to get spaded. I learned at the time she was about 9/10 months herself. Sailor was just a baby with kittens of her own. My heart melted and she’s been with me ever since! She’s always been so well mannered, a lap cat, and she’s very very loving. She loves to watch tv and watch outside. She doesn’t seem to like outside any more, instead she enjoys hiding behind my bed, sleeping by my feet, playing with her sisters (our dog and we also have two daughters) Sailor gets along with other pets and children! I have loved Sailor from the very beginning and she has taught me so much. Every morning she visits me when I wake at 5, it’s like she knows I’ll be waking up for a bathroom break. She has become my best friend and it hurts to even give her up. I’d rather she go to a home where she’s loved. She has never been in a shelter, doesn’t know anything but a home since her very first months of life she was a street cat and has now ended up in a loving home. We are moving to a pet free home and unable to take her. My only wish is for someone to love her. She’s spaded, up to date on her shots, microchipped, litter trained and has the most beautiful meow.
