Biography

Love Bug Seeks Quiet Home: This handsome boy is all about the cuddles!

"My name is Murphy, and I'm happiest as the only pet in the house and will thrive with a patient, loving, energetic owner. I've still got a bunch of my "Puppy Energy" left, and I need someone who will help me with my anxieties, especially around men and children. Walks, playtime, and lots of affection are my favorites - I've been told I give the BEST hugs! Could you be my forever person?"

Hi, I'm Wendi, Murphy's mom. I don't want to rehome our boy, but I love him enough to know that he isn't able to live his best life with us. Currently, he is one of four dogs. When we brought him home from the Nebraska Humane Society, we weren't told that he was a high-anxiety pupper, just that he was shy. With lots of patience, training, and a prescription that we've worked to get right, he certainly came out of his shell - but his anxiety being around the other dogs all day is just too much for our sweet guy. When it's just us, and no other dogs around, Murphy is quite literally a perfect dog. He knows where the bathroom is, knows what he can and can't chew on, wants to play, give hugs, help cook (haha), and just generally be where we are. Unfortunately, all of the commotion from the older (and bigger) dogs in the house is just too much for him when added in to his anxiety.

We've been working with a trainer that comes to the house in the hopes that that alone will make the difference, and although we are seeing small bits of progress, with the distractions of the other doggos, Murph just isn't able to focus as well as he would on his own.

If you're looking for a true companion, who will show his adoration for years and years to come, Murphy is your guy.
