Biography

We are needing to re-home our new dog, Luna …we got her from a shelter about 2 months ago she’s just not getting along with our cat (even though the shelter I got her from advertised her as “cat friendly”)… her prey drive is just TOO strong- and I’m truly starting to get worried I won’t be able to effectively keep my cat safe if I keep Luna in the house! I want all my animals to have quality lives - but not sure i can give this girl the best one.

She’d do awesome on a farm, or a place where she’s given a job and a way to release her energy and be engaged in something! Or even a house with a large yard! She’s BRILLIANT, and so easily trained! Amazing personality and SO SWEET and lovable. Has some separation anxiety and would do best with someone who’s home more often. She’s been in training and working on loose leash walking, place command, basic commands, etc. she’s also not too bad off leash! She honestly a great dog … just not if you have cats.

She is UTD on all vaccines and monthly parasite protection, etc. and microchipped.
She is a German shepherd / border collie, mix. And has the most adorable ears - 1 up, 1 down. She’s oh so Cuddly and lovable, and Loves other dogs. Her and my puppy are best friends and love wrestling, playing Chase and tug! She is Wicked Smart… the training I’m working with is always impressed with how quickly she learns concepts.
Not too psycho for a collie, but prey drive is strong.
NOT CAT FRIENDLY

Downside, she Will try to escape the crate if it’s not secured well… she CAN be in a well secured crate, but is not a huge fan of it! that’s a part of the separation anxiety. Loves the crate with the door open, of course 🤣 due to her separation anxiety, she doesn’t do well roaming freely in the house by herself without being crated. She would be ok as an outdoor dog if you have a kennel or run, or a place that has access to a fenced yard (so she can come and go). Or … even just a home that has someone home most of the time! My schedule has me gone just FAR too much!

I love this girl and it’s breaking my heart to let her go, but I have to keep my other animals safe … and id never forgive myself if something happened to my cat.

Help me find her a cat free home !!! ❤️
