I rescued Boosie when he was only a few months old. He was on the verge of being dumped by a family that abused him and was angry with the fact that he chewed up everything... as a puppy. Because of this, no matter the socializing I did, he has always had nervousness issues with new people and growled. Now, 7 years later, I have a child and after bringing Boosie back home and slowly trying to get him comfortable with our newborn, it didn't go as hoped. In 2022 he went back to my mom's house to live with her, her husband, and their beagle. My mom's husband has Alzheimers and my mom works full-time. It is getting to the point where it is unsafe for Boosie to live with them any longer. The lack of awareness could put Boosie in a position where he could harm someone unintentionally. On top of this, Boosie has some food allergies. No expensive diet is required but there are just some ingredients, and ESPECIALLY human food that he can not have. This lack of understanding in the house has caused Boosie's allergy symptoms to worsen and he is not almost 60 lbs. His healthiest weight was when I moved out with him and he was 45lbs. Boosie is a very loving and goofy dog. He has always lived with other dogs and cats and there have been no issues. However, it would be best if Boosie was the center of attention and was the only dog in the house. He gets very rambunctious and goofy jealous when other dogs get attention. With cats, he steers clear as long as you make it aware to be nice to them. He has never been in a dog fight or attempted to hurt a cat. It would also be best that no children be around him. He has never necessarily shown agrression towards babies or kids but his demeanor and unpredictability should not be trusted around them. He is fully potty trained and the only accident I recall him having was an upset stomach (diarrhea) and it was clear he tried to make it to the door to get outside and just couldn't. He loves little stuffed animals and doesn't chew anything up. Nervous in thunderstorms and receives calming moments chews and curls up in bed to help. Needs to be able to get on furniture, he's a big baby that just wants to be cozy. He is a shadow, lover, and protector to the people that are patient with him and earn his trust. He is still just a nervous puppy at heart wanting to be loved. He needs a safe and forever home.
