This sweet dog need of a new home. Koda is a fun loving, playful, and talkative 5 year old male Husky. Koda was with us first in 2019 in a home with 3 children, with the oldest now being 13.
Koda loves to play fetch with his favorite toys or any tennis ball you can find. When he isn't playing, he enjoys gentle hip massages or any attention you are willing to give. Koda also thinks he's still small enough to fit in your lap, so if you'll allow it, he'll settle in right on top of you. He even enjoys being held like a toddler for short periods of time and carried around the house. He will have full on conversations with you if you get him going, and greets you with a very enthusiastic "Hello!" every time you come home, or just walk down the stairs!
He is quite smart and will follow directions, especially once he gets into a routine. During dinner time he hangs out on his bed until the family is done eating. This doesn't stop him from asking for a treat during clean up, but he doesn't go out of his way to break the rules. He is also are quick to learn any areas of the home you do not want him exploring (specific rooms, upstairs/downstairs, etc.), and will respect requests to leave the kitchen while food is being cooked.
He does very well off-leash with a simple tone collar during camping trips or field play. On leash, Koda tends to pull a little like a true Husky, but will ease up after some time into the walk. He knows he can't run up to every house or car you pass and will generally stay on path you are walking.
Koda is healthy and have no known issues. He eats Purina Pro Plan and we change the flavor each month to give him a variety in their diet as we found he would get uninterested after a few months of the same flavor.
Koda is also kennel trained, but does fine left unattended for long periods of time as well. If there aren't any toys available for Koda, he has had a couple of instances over the years of dissecting a shoe. He likes various kinds of treats such as pig ears, beef bones, Greenies and anything with peanut butter. He is not fans of Milk Bones however.

Unfortunately, our middle daughter has struggled with allergies all her life, but she is also an animal lover. We have tried everything we can to mitigate the affects, however they continue to bother her and have gotten a little worse each year as she's grown. At a recent doctors appointment, we were told that any pets in main living spaces will need to be rehomed or could exasperate her symptoms. This is the reason we are looking to rehome our Koda.

I'm sure there's details I'm overlooking but please feel free to reach out with questions.
