Biography

Hi there! My name is BMO (the kids named me after their favorite cartoon character - do you know what it’s from??). I’m about 5 years old, but who the heck really knows, lol? I’m a rescue dog after all. They call me a “ blue pocket pitty”, but my family also thinks maybe that I also have some Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless) in me ‘cause I have almost no hair on my body! I’m about 48 pounds and my nickname is “leg day” because I have super strong legs and could run rings around my older brother.

Some of my favorite things to do are: cuddle. Snuggle. Sleep. Snuggle. Be close to my favorite humans at all times. (My other nickname is Velcro!). Oh, did I mention I like to snuggle and sleep? I did? Well, I’m like an Olympic level snuggler. If you like to Netflix and Chill, I’m your gal. Because most of the time that’s literally all I do.

The other thing I’m awesome at is playing with my special dog pals…I can play and play and play. Sometimes I get jealous if they have a bone and I don’t and I hate to admit it, but I’ll growl and grab it, but I’ve never hurt another pet. I would never want to do that! I have had puppies in my life before and to be honest, I’m not that into them. They’re so annoying! But we used to have a cat and I just left her alone and we did our own things. No biggie.

I think because of something in my early childhood, pre-family, I have developed some anxiety. In fact, I get freaked out when new people come to the house. I don’t want to, but I can’t help it. I bark and generally act like a fool, but once I get to know them (which doesn’t take long), I’m all kisses and wiggles.

But now here comes the sad part of the story. One time, an Amazon delivery guy came to the front door. I lost my grip on reality and somehow managed to bust through the front door and I hate to admit it, but I bit him. I was just so dang scared and wanted to protect my family! But I bit him too hard and everyone freaked out and I didn’t mean to!

And to sum up: I honestly think I need a quieter home with fewer people. My house now is full of people and kids and dogs and it just makes me jumpy (no pun intended). Plus (and this is the REALLY sad part of the story), my human brother just died, so everyone in the house is also crying all the time and pretty distracted.

SO. You would be a great new human companion for me if:
- You want a ride-or-die gal who will stick by you 24/7
- You don’t have a lot of people and pets coming and going (another adult dog would be OK, but I like to be the alpha)
- You have experience with pitties
- You LOVE TO SNUGGLE (OMG I love just cuddling up with people under the covers and snoozing and being cozy!)
- You are gentle and kind and understanding, but also let me know my boundaries

You would not be a good human companion (for me) if:
- You don’t know anything about pitties, or dogs in general, and don’t have experience with rescues
- You expect me to fight or any of that other godawful stuff people do with pitties
- You have Amazon delivery people coming over all the time and have no way to contain me (sorry, but it’s true😩)
- You have a lot of people and pets etc coming and going on the daily (it just makes me anxious…it’s not like I’m antisocial, but I am most comfortable with a predictable environment)

So what do you think? Are we a match? If so, just contact my best human, Liz. She’ll organize a meet and greet. And until then…I’m off to Netflix and Chill!
