Rocky is a loving, gentle, and intelligent 9 yr old Plott Hound. His owner suddenly passed away and surviving family are sadly unable to keep him.
Rocky LOVES giving & receiving love and being right against or near you. He likes to lay in your lap if allowed, even though he’s about 90 pounds. Rocky enjoys being petted, talked to, and is a good listener. He also likes to snuggle up in his favorite recliner & hang out with you. Rocky LOVES spending time outside in the yard and sniffing about as he is a hound.
Rocky is active & enjoys playing with his toys and doing zoomies, but has a chill personality.
Rocky is great on a lead line outside & does well with the invisible fence, although a fenced in yard or area is preferable.
Rocky loves car rides & walks. Heeling is a work in progress. Therefore, someone that is strong enough & patient to help him continue to learn to heel and become even more awesome is preferable.
Rocky barks at passing walkers, but isn’t a constant barker.
Rocky previously lived with a teenager and very briefly with a dog savvy cat.
Rocky does not get along with dogs.
Rocky is housetrained, neutered, and up to date on vaccines.
Rocky knows sit, but his dad was unable to practice other commands with him. Rocky would benefit from private one on one training or evaluation (for suggestions & tips to help restart training) so he can CONTINUE to be the best version of himself and enjoy life even more.
Please consider Rocky If you’re looking for a LOVING, smart, chill dog. He has SO MUCH love he wants to give you. One look in his eyes and you will be hooked.
