Biography

Mooney is a ball of energy and fun. Super smart and learns quickly. He would do best in a home where there is another high energy dog that matches his energy and can get plenty of play. Or a home with plenty of space to run around outside. We absolutely adore him but he has proven to be more than our other dog can handle. Currently neither dog is getting to live their best life this way. Mooney wants to play play play and our older dog is just absolutely tired of it. Mooney deserves to be able to have all the fun with dogs more similar to his energy and our older dog deserves to not be hounded for play all day long.

Mooney loves to be outside often to enjoy sunshine, smell the wind and do zoomies. He is a pro at tug-of-war, fetch and loves stuffed animals.

He is on the small end of "medium" at 34 lbs.

We don't have any children so we can't say for certain how he is with them, but because he is so energetic and fast (along with the ankle nibbling tendencies of a cattle dog mix) it would be wise for him to either not live with young children or be supervised while he gets settled. (Same with cats - we don't have any so unsure of how he would do in a home with them but loves to chase things that move, especially the lizards in our yard.)

We are helping get Mooney back to great health after having been a stray. He has come so far! His coat filled back in and he is so shiny now. He had some broken teeth so we had him get a full dental cleaning with x-rays and had the bad ones extracted. When he first came to live with us he was very itchy but is SO much better now that he has good nutrition and started on Apoquel (which we will start to taper off of soon to see how he does without it). We have had full bloodwork done on him to make sure he is doing well and it was found that he has Valley Fever, so we are treating him for that.

This amazing dog has overcome so many challenges in his young life and we want the absolute best for him. He truly deserves to be in a home where he can live his best life. I am so sad that our dog isn't bonding with him because he has so much to offer.

If you have any interest please email me. I am happy to answer any and all questions about him.
