Ruby is a 1 year old, female American Pit Bull Terrier. She is current on vaccines, spayed, house trained, and crate trained. She is a love bug and just wants to curl up on the couch and sneak kisses. When she is ready to chill out, she will go to her crate and make some zzzz’s. While home alone, she does well enclosed in crate for up to 5-6 hours. Play is her middle name, ball, fluffy, squeaky, or chewy, there is no toy she would deny. She loves a game of chase and therefore requires a fully fenced yard. Her daily walks are the highlight of her day. She does well on a leash, but she has shown that she is not ready to meet other dogs on her walks. She has some fear-aggression and goes into protective mode. For now, she keeps to her side of the sidewalk. Ruby is a great companion and an amazing dog, but she needs to be the only dog in the home. She currently resides with another female dog and recently has become aggressive towards her. Which is why we are looking rehome her as we feel this would best for her and our other dog. She will do well with an experienced adopter that can one on one train her and help build her confidence.

With the Home to Home platform, the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County (HSTPC) helps connect people looking to rehome their pets with potential adopters. The pets on this page are NOT a part of the HSTPC adoption program, have not been assessed by HSTPC, and HSTPC is not able to verify the accuracy of descriptions written by the pet owner.
