Boomer is a good dog and has the potential to be a great dog and duck hunter but he will need more specialized training than we can offer him. He is potty trained, crate trained, and knows "sit", "stay", "down", and "come". It's easy to forget he is still very much a puppy (because he's so large) so he needs lots of things to chew to keep him busy.
From the beginning Boomer has been so good with our family but also has been afraid of other people and very domineering towards other animals. When he is in our house he ignores our children but when they play outside he will try to knock them down so we keep him in when they play. We have tried to help him be less afraid of the neighbors and less aggressive towards other animals but we have had to come to the difficult decision that he is going to need training from someone who understands him better than we do. Because of this he will need to go to a home with no children or other animals until he gets more training. We know Boomer has so much love to give. He is silly, eager to please, and the quickest way to his heart is through his stomach. He loves to play fetch and really just wants to spend all his time with his family. We know Boomer has many ducks in his future to retrieve and lots of kisses to give and we hope to find someone who will take the time to help him reach his full potential.
