My name is Stella and I will be 2 years old in March. I am super sweet and love getting pets and scratches. Belly rubs are my favorite! I love snuggling and being close, and curling up next to people to take a nap. I also love being cozy and warm and will curl up in a blanket or some pillows for a snooze. I really like chewing on my fake sticks, getting treat-stuffed enrichment toys, and squeaking my stuffies! When I'm happy and excited, I get the zoomies and go really really fast around the yard. I also like going for car rides and sticking my head out the window! I do really well on long car rides and pretty much sleep the whole time.

I'm really smart and have learned lots of new things, like sit, down, stay, shake, roll over, and bed, as well as some other commands, and I know how to stay at the door and (most of the time) wait until I'm told I can go outside (I'm still practicing!)

I love going for walks and I really enjoy getting to run and romp around the local trails where there are lots of smells and things to see. Sometimes I’ve been allowed to be off leash when no one is around, but I do get distracted and need to be on leash when other people and animals are around. I think I can be a really good off-leash dog someday, I just need practice.

One thing I'm working on right now is learning it's okay to be home alone; I get anxious when left alone. I am now kennel trained and so far have tolerated about 3-4 hours of kennel time.

Also, I love other dogs and just want to be friends, but sometimes when I'm out on the trails and on my leash, I get scared and overwhelmed and can show some leash reactivity. Keeping my distance from other dogs when I'm on leash and overstimulated is best for now until I learn to feel safe in those environments. I am currently seeing a dog trainer to work on this.

When I'm able to meet dogs in a low-stress environment where I feel safe, like a fenced yard, I love making new friends and playing. I probably didn't get a lot of dog interaction when I was a puppy so I'm still learning how to act appropriately when I meet new dogs but I'm getting better and have met lots of dog friends I love.

It doesn't take me long to warm up to people and once you get to know me, I'm really very sweet and so goofy. I would love to find a home where someone can help me be the best dog I know I can be.

If you're interested in adopting me, please contact my owner who would love to share more info about me!
