My name is Sarah and I work at Glenwood Village Pet Hospital. We are looking for rescue placement for a dog named Dakota that was abandoned at our clinic. Her owners brought her to us because she had a vaginal prolapse and after the procedure, they never came back for her. She has been sitting in a kennel in the basement of our clinic since October. We do not have any yards, so her only exercise is 3 walks a day with staff members. She is fearful with new people and will cower and avoid interaction. However, she is extremely food motivated so she does warm up to new people. Once she is comfortable, she is super playful, cuddly, and loves getting all the attention she can. She will need training and re-house breaking. Dakota is on Trazodone and Gabapentin because of stress from being in the clinic environment. She has done well with meeting two other dogs at the clinic and lived with another dog in her previous home. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, UTD on preventives, HW negative, negative fecal, and microchipped. Unfortunately, her quality of life living in the basement of our clinic is not good.
