Monte is a loving, sweet 3 1/2 year old husky cattle dog mix from Texas. We rescued him from the Northeast Animal Shelter 3 years ago, and he has been a joy in our life. Unfortunately, we are unable to dedicate the time and commitment he needs and deserves.
Monte has three favorite things in his world: Food, You, and snuggling on the couch during the day (and at night). He also LOVES to play and walk, although we don't give him many toys because he can rip up just about anything (he does not destroy furniture or other household items. Only toys that he knows are his). He is house and crate trained, and knows basic commands (sit, down, spin, paw/shake, stay). He is VERY smart and food motivated to learn.
His one issue is that he can be a bit possessive over high value items, which 99% of the time is food. He does not like it when someone tries to take away a high value treat from him, or something else he deems high value (such as getting his head into the dishwasher and licking dirty plates). Monte would do best in an owner who has prior experience in dog training and likely does not have kids. He would also do best with someone who can give him adequate exercise (he loves to walk and run). He also gets along with other dogs and loves to play.
He is up to date on all vaccines.
