Meet Cubbie! He is a 1-2 year old lab mix that weighs 42lbs. He is a very sweet boy that enjoys playtime as much as cuddle time. He'll drop playtime entirely if it means that he'll get to cuddle up next to you on the couch or in bed watching a movie.
He is learning basic obedience skills and is a very fast learner. The shelter said he spent most of his life alone in a crate and just needs training/socialization.
We made the mistake of rescuing Cubbie and another dog from the shelter at the same time. Cubbie was in the home a few days before the other dog. When we tried to introduce them, Cubbie displayed some resource guarding behaviors which might be the result of being in the home first. The two dogs are able to walk with each other on leash and have had successful play time in the yard. They are just not getting along inside the home. Cubbie may pair well with an already established dog. We are not sure if he absolutely needs to be the only dog. At the shelter, the notes stated he was "paired easily" with other dogs in the kennels. We are currently in the process of rehoming Cubbie or the other dog because they are both sweet boys that are just not a great fit with each other.
We're rehoming Cubbie with a Kong crate, leash, harness, and collar.
