Briny is an absolutely amazing, petite (just shy of 40 lbs) little pittie mix and I love her so much, but I have come to accept that she would be much happier living in a different environment. She is incredibly affectionate and wants to be snuggled up next to her people, or preferably in a lap, as much as possible. She is super friendly to every human she meets, and she meets a lot: people stop us on the street all the time to tell her how gorgeous she is, and she is only too happy to give them a hug and a face lick in return. She's good on leash, and polite when meeting other dogs on walks. She is housetrained, sleeps happily in her crate, and is great at her basic commands. She is super smart and learns quickly, and loves training.
All that being said, there are two factors preventing Briny from living her best life with me in my current situation (in an apartment in a city):
1) She really wants/needs to be the only dog around. While she's perfectly polite meeting other dogs out on walks, she gets frustrated at dog parks or in other enclosed spaces (like backyards) with other dogs and has been known to start a scuffle when her boundaries are crossed.
2) She craves a lot of physical and mental exercise, and while I give her as much as I can, I know she'd be better off with more. Her trainer says she'd be a dream dog for anyone looking to train for a dog sport; I also think she'd be a great running buddy as she loves hiking and running around on the beach.
Briny is truly a special girl who brings so much love and joy everywhere she goes, and the right family will be so happy to have her!
