Jake (From State Farm) is an 8 year old Black Lab Greyhound mix (supposedly. Unfortunately we don't know for sure). He is neutered. Jake is a very loving boy and loves to be with his people/person. He loves to play with balls and plush toys (especially the Skineez toys without stuffing). Jake is a big cuddler and, in his opinion, has to sleep on the bed with you. We unfortunately don't have a back yard but Jake loves to run and play chase and sorta fetches (he doesn't bring it back). He likes to chase rabbits and birds when we go on walks, but isn't successful due to the leash. Jake doesn't mind older children but shouldn't be in a home with smaller children or toddlers or homes where smaller children will be visiting frequently. Jake loves sweaters but doesn't like the process of putting them on. You'll notice him calm (at least a bit) when in a sweater.

Despite Jake being a very loving dog, that love does stem from separation anxiety. Jake tends to act out when left alone but would do wonders with someone who can afford anxiety medication and or training. He can be left alone in a crate without barking but will paw at the doors trying to get out when alone. He is very dog aggressive but has lived peacefully in a home with another dog and a cat. Again I feel the aggression stems from anxiety and can be handled with proper medication and or training. Jake is sensitive to loud noises and will bark/shake when he hears them (most common enemies: thunderstorms and garbage trucks). Jake can be warry of strangers, especially men, but can be introduced to them safely, in the home, by their owner.

Jake is truly a good boy, he just has anxiety problems that we can't treat. They have gotten a little worse due to our naivety but he is still very trainable. He can be a bit picky about treats but would love to be rewarded with a quick play session when he does a good job. Please consider our sweet boy for your home.
