Jack is Lovable, endearing, playful, curious, and a real charmer. He was born feral in the neighborhood in the summer of 2021. When 90 inches of snow blocked the entrance to his catwarming house on the hill last winter, he tentatively inched his nose further and further into the room with a heated floor and hands that ushered out treats, toys, and fluffy rugs. Jack chose his adopted humans, and over months, came to accept being petted and played with (on his terms, of course). Half dog like, he follows his humans everywhere and sits at their feet, but never in their lap (yet). He accepts and seeks petting, playtime, and daily exits outside. He races across the slippery floor to catch the laser red light, leaps after the fishing rod kitty lures, and throws his mice around (occasionally a warm but still flaccid one). He watches the critters from his warm abode and races outside to chase them when it isn’t snowing, raining, or too frigidly cold. The woods are his litter box, but he’s smart and we believe easily trainable.
We were so hoping to keep him, but my son has significant allergies and they will get worse when the trees start to bud in the spring. We think Jack could be an exclusive indoor cat and we want what’s best for him. He loves human company!
