I have a seven month old pittie that’s in need of a new home. He’s a sweetheart. This isn’t easy for us. We took on too much and it just doesn’t seem fair to him to not be able to give him what he needs.
Looking for someone that would be able to adopt him as their best friend. He has some training and responds really well to positive reinforcement training, though he knows the prong collar to enforce boundaries as we took a balanced training approach, with more emphasis on the positive. Easily trainable with food and treats, and will need someone who’s motivated to continue training.
He’s very gentle with my son and good around little kids but he needs someone that doesn’t have any so their attention isnt split.
His name is Toro. He is so, so sweet and loving. Velcro dog for sure. He’s a leaner. Loves hugs. Would probably be very happy to sleep with you. He currently sleeps in his crate.
He is fully potty trained. Walks well on a leash. Can sit and lay down. He stays when motivated by treats. Very good at recalling but not 100%.
Rides incredibly well in the car. Loves to sit shotgun.
He’s been around cats and chickens but always supervised, never left alone.
He hasn’t been around a bunch of other dogs, but when he has been he just wants to play. Isn’t mean to them or anything. Has been socialized with a couple other dogs on leash.
This is probably obvious, but he has a lot of energy and needs at least an hour of exercise a day. Would do very well if someone were to train him with scent work or other things that involve his brain, as he is incredibly smart. We socialized him a bunch with people from very early on so is just an all around friendly guy. Could still make a good guard dog, though.
We have a ton of stuff we could sell you for a low cost- collars, crate, over a months worth of high quality food, airtight bucket for food, place board, toys, etc. I might even throw in the training program I bought if I can figure out how to transfer that.
