Debbie is ~6 years old, and is a force of nature in all the best ways. When she was 2 her spine was damaged by a coyote and she needed surgery. As a result, her back legs were immobile and she became incontinent. Feeling shy and vulnerable at first, she worked diligently to rebuild her strength and mobility. Incredibly she relearned how to walk… then climb… then even jump! Her spunk, resilience, and strength is second to none. As she grew more confident, her sweet, affectionate, playful heart also began to shine even brighter. She’s not able to jump into her human’s lap, but will eagerly rub your legs when she’s looking for some love! She has also been happily living with another cat for the last 4 years. Completely unfazed by her differences, she loves to play and cuddle with other friendly creatures.
She is still incontinent so requires patience and care by a dedicated and experienced cat parent. Other than a couple UTIs, however, she's been perfectly healthy since her surgery.
Debbie is not your everyday cat. Her special soul has truly been a blessing in my life and I'm heartbroken to part ways. However, the combination of a huge shift in my financial situation, an upcoming move across the country, and a partner who is allergic to cats has made it unfeasible for me to provide her the life she deserves. My dream is to find her a special parent who can match and appreciate Debbie's huge heart, patience, and dedication.
