Biography

Big stubborn loveable lump of doggo. Aika is an incredible boy, he is energetic, exuberant, loving, can be surprisingly gentle (has played with ferrets successfully before, and currently lives with 2 cats who he likes to rub and boop occasionally), and unfortunately leash reactive, male dog reactive, and occasional resource guarding (his favorite being, food, toys). He's smart but also stubborn to the point of stupidity sometimes and silly and talkative (a lot of Chatter when you're home, and anxious barking when you're away). He really is a good boy though, he needs exercise and training regularly. Lots of love and he'll cuddle with you as long as you'll let him.
Aika is from Slough, England and even has a British doggy passport. He has been with me since he was 16 weeks old and came home with me after I fell in love with him and his cuddly nature. He loves hiking, walks, was trained to run beside an off road push scooter (we haven't done that in a long time) basically anything outdoors and adventure filled.
He has been partnered with a small female terrier cross since he arrived in Canada and they are inextricably bonded, but she is very old and will be leaving us for the rainbow Bridge soon unfortunately 😢 MJ has given him a bit of her small dog complex and instilled a need to protect her into him. I'm not sure how he will handle her passing but we will be facing that soon.
Our family has changed a lot (2 babies in a the last few years) and Aika really isn't getting the love, attention, training and especially, exercise that he deserves. My heart breaks for him, knowing that he could be living his best life and isn't getting that from our household anymore. Our hope is that we can find him a new furever family that is high energy and willing to invest their time and attention into him. He deserves the whole world, all the cuddles, couch time (maybe even someone who will let him sleep in the bed again 🤷🏾‍♀️), patience, and all the love.
