Tanner, a charming and sweet young adult, joined our family from the Dane County Humane Society in August 2022. At 3-4 years old, he's a playful companion who loves snuggling with his humans, playing tug or chase, and enjoying the outdoors.
Tanner is an active dog, running around outside for as long as you let him. While he loves swimming, we've discovered he tends to swallow a lot of water, so water hose play is a safer alternative. Tanner has interacted well with other dogs but cannot be around cats.
Despite our love for Tanner, we've faced challenges with his interactions with our cat. Despite training efforts, he tends to engage in ways that aren't suitable for a shared living space. Currently, we keep them separated, and we believe Tanner would thrive better in a new home.
Tanner responds well to treats and knows tricks like sitting, laying down, playing dead, “paw”, and following commands. He does well with older kids but may be too energetic for smaller children. Tanner likes to chew and occasionally seeks attention by grabbing items, but he responds well to a firm "No."
It's a challenging choice, but we believe Tanner deserves a home where he can receive more care and attention. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Tanner, please reach out. We want to ensure he finds the loving home he deserves.
