JD is a sweet and healthy mixed breed (possibly part Husky) that is 6-9 months old and currently weighs about 47lbs.

We found him lost around Thanksgiving and have done our best to find his owner while caring for him for over 5 months. Although we love him very much, we unfortunately can’t keep him.

JD gets along very well with our golden retriever and interacts well with other dogs. He’s very mellow when alone but would benefit from other dogs for companionship.

He is incredibly intelligent, house trained, and we've been crate-training him. He listens well and when you say the word “Kennel” he will go right into his crate. We have only done some basic obedience training, but we highly recommend training him professionally as you both will benefit. We recommend Run Your Pack in Clinton as we work with them training our Golden Retriever and it has been an amazing experience.

JD needs plenty of exercise and a fenced-in yard with a high fence. He can jump or climb a standard 4 foot fence. He can also open doors with lever type handles. Like we said, he’s very intelligent!

We haven’t had him around small children or cats yet, so we can’t speak to his behavior in those situations. However, we suspect he will be great around children as he is sweet, playful, and loyal. With that said he is strong and still young so I would encourage introducing him to kids prior to making a decsion.

He has been fully vaccinated and was fixed mid March 20224.

With the right home situation, attention, and training, JD will be an amazing family dog or a dog to take hiking. We will want to make sure that anyone willing to take him is willing, responsible, and reliable. We don’t know what he has been through, but he deserves a good home.

If he is not the right fit for your family we would prefer to get him back and help him find a new home rather than placing him in a shelter. We want to be clear that we want the right family fit for him and will be discriminating about whom we place him with. We care about him very much.

My name is Meg and I would be happy to introduce anyone interested in meeting him. email is and my cell is 406-544-0933 (not sure I can post that information in this forum. :)
