Birdie is about a year and a half. She is an affectionate, loving dog in the home. She is a fast learner and knows some basic commands and is crate trained. She is nearly potty trained but still has the occasional accident if she is not kept on a schedule. We are currently training her with bells for outside cues. Birdie seems to have a history that has caused her to be very anxious outside and with some people, like younger children. She will require a home with teenagers or older kids (or no kids) and no other pets. We have another dog but since being with us she has grown more and more defensive with new dogs outside the home. She will require an experienced dog owner who can continue her leash training. She is so loving, loves to cuddle and wants to please. With a daily walk or 2 in a quiet neighborhood, she will flourish into an amazing pet. Our neighborhood is very busy and our schedules no longer allow for the training she needs. We are heartbroken but know she deserves more. Screening process will include multiple meetings, virtual home visit and vet references if possible. Thank you!
